No experience is needed. Our workshops are designed to be beginner-friendly, and we guide you through each step of the hand-building process.

Hand-building is a traditional way of making ceramics without using a pottery wheel. Instead, clay is shaped by hand using techniques such as pinching, coiling and slab building to create objects like mugs, bowls and small sculptures.

Yes. The workshops take place at Cornerstone Community Centre, which is wheelchair accessible. The centre can be accessed via an external ramp, and there is a lift inside the building providing access to the upstairs rooms. Two of the centre’s toilets are also wheelchair accessible. If you have any specific access requirements or questions before attending a workshop, please feel free to get in touch and we will do our best to accommodate you.

During the workshop you may create items such as: • mugs or cups • bowls or dishes • plant pots • candle holders • small sculptural pieces You will be guided through the process but are free to explore your own ideas.

Yes. All clay, tools and materials are provided during the workshop.

Most workshops last approximately 2 hours, giving you time to learn the techniques and complete your piece.

Pottery can be a little messy, so we recommend wearing comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting clay on.

Some workshops are BYOB sessions, where participants are welcome to bring their own drinks. Please note that all participants must be 18 or older to attend BYOB workshops.

Yes. Many people attend with friends, partners or family members. If you would like to attend together, we recommend booking your spaces at the same time.
